The Position
As designer you are responsible for all design activities for all the countries Compare Group is active in. This consists of designing and creating wireframes, user interface components and templates for our websites, menus, icons, (interactive) banners and more. The goal of your efforts is to create the right visual elements that trigger the expected user behavior.

Compare Group is an online oriented company. The majority of your designs will be integrated directly into our websites, helping visitors find their best buys.

You work together with our product managers and local website managers to translate their needs into design concepts which you execute accordingly.

You actively contribute to the development of design specification documents and style guides. You establish a consistent visual language and brand experience across various platforms.

You operate from within the marketing department and report to the marketing manager.

Your home base is the head office in Utrecht, the Netherlands.

Responsibilities and Tasks
•    Design and create wireframes, user interface components and templates for all our websites, menus, icons, (interactive) banners and more;
•    Collaborate with product managers and local website managers to translate their needs into visual design concepts for our websites;
•    Make quick sketches and mockups to evaluate design ideas;
•    Establish a consistent visual language and brand experience across various platforms. Guard the branding guidelines;
•    Actively contribute to the development of design specification documents and style guides;
•    Act as the advocate of the end-user of the service;
•    Initiate process and design improvements.

Your profile
Compare Group is searching for candidates with strong design skills and knowledge of relevant interactive technology platforms and graphic design software packages. Experience as interactive designer in an online environment is considered a strong plus.

In addition, the right candidate will most likely fit the following profile:

Education / Experience
•    Bachelor or University level
•    If you are available, enthusiastic and willing to contribute in making our company great, feel free to apply. Even if you just left school or are still studying. It would be a great opportunity to build and extend your portfolio;
•    Working experience as interactive designer in an online environment is considered a plus;
•    A visual portfolio that displays strong visual design skills is considered a strong plus.

Competencies / Skill
•    Solid understanding of web and interface design fundamentals;
•    Expert in design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign or similar;
•    Expert in creating Flash banners;
•    Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, PHP, XML, AS3 and not afraid to further extend this knowledge;
•    Ability to work well under pressure and to make adjustments to meet unplanned changes to accomplish strict deadlines;
•    Ability to switch rapidly between different projects in a fast-paced environment;
•    Good organizational skills for file maintenance and documentation;
•    Fluent in Dutch and English;
•    Affinity with internet technologies and business models.
